Creating environments

Hi,

A couple of days ago I learnt how to properly set up our power platform with multiple environments. Our default environment is currently using 1.46gb of 3gb database storage, 1.72 of 3gb file usage and 20mb of 1gb log usage. We are a school and have A3 licenses.

When I try to create another environment (a production one) I'm told that I don't have enough capacity but an environment just requires 1gb. Does it also need 1gb of log space? If this is the case then is there any way I can create more than one environment without having to buy extra dataverse space?

You must have available space to be able to create new environments

Some of this depends on the license you have. If you only have the Office 365 seeded Power Apps license, then you don't have any extra capacity at all. If you purchase one Premium license you will have enough capacity from that license to create several environments. so you don't need to buy extra Dataverse space, but you do need something more than a regular Office license.
