PowerApps and Zebra barcode scanners

Has anyone experienced issues with the Barcode Reader control, when trying to use an internal Zebra barcode scanner (Zebra android tablet device with integrated barcode scanner)? My organization is trying to implement a PowerApps solution using a Zebra 6000 which relies heavily on its integrated barcode scanner. However. It seems that PowerApps or Android makes it mandatory to allow Camera permissions on this PowerApp, due to the barcode control presumably. That said, when running the app directly on the Android tablet, and clicking the barcode reader (button), the tablet shows an inverted camera image from the front-camera, and will not recognize any barcode from either the camera or the integrated barcode scanner. Is anyone else having issues with PowerApps and Zebra tablets with integrated barcode scanners?

@Jay55 I am having issues with Zebra tablet internal barcode scanner to PowerApps text input box - the internal barcode reader won't work.

Have you found any solution to your issues with the integrated barcode scanner?

I wish I was able to test this, as I have a Zebra TC57 sitting right in front of me, but it is company-managed and heavily locked down. I cannot install any custom apps on it. I have so many use-cases for this too.

I'd imaging scanning a barcode with the camera to be substantially worse than using the Zebra's integrated barcode scanner. In that case, I would forgo the barcode control altogether and just use a text input control to gather what the integrated scanner reads.

@Rutger , if it's not scanning at all, you may need to mess with the Zebra DataWedge software.

Hello Jason, thanks for your reply first of all.

It is not scanning, even after setting a DataWedge profile for PowerApps.

And weirdly it does allow me to scan on the MS login page and in the search bar at the 'favorites' PA page, but then when going into the specific Power App it does nothing even using text input control.

Then when going back again to the favorites menu it doesn't work there anymore either.

So it seems like opening my app inside PowerApps triggers something that makes the internal scanner not work anymore for the whole of Powerapps.
