I've created an app recently that requires the input of a 16 digit number. When a user submits this form it goes to the sharepoint list it's connected to with the last 2 digits rounded (ex. 78 rounds to 80). I'm finding nothing online about this topic.

Hi @Dmansell
If you used a SharePoint number column, the floating point nature of this data type does not support the accurate storage of numbers that are 16 digits in length. The workaround is to store your number in a text field. The limitation of this is that you can't sort or perform calculations on the value.
There are more details in the documentation here:

Thanks for sharing @timl! - indeed did not think of storage afterwards.
Thanks for the reply! I knew I could use the text field as a last resort, but I wanted to at least ask in the forum to see if anyone knew of a way to do it with the number column.
Hi @Dmansell - unfortunately, there's no way around this issue except to store the number in a text field.
If you need to store numbers fewer than 15 characters, you can prefix the number with 0's. This can help if need to sort the numbers.
