Importing users from Default environment to Production environment

Hi,

We created a Production environment for in-house PowerApps developers to create Apps.  We primarily connect to Azure Cloud SQL database.  Now, we began to use Dataverse and created an App for using Dataverse.

When we released this App for testing, users reported that seeing:

"You are not in the dataverse security group required for this apps environment"

"Error when trying to retrieve data from the network: The user is not a member of the origination"

I created a Security Role to Access the Dataverse table.  But, when I tried to assign users to the Security role, I was shocked to see only a subset of all employees in the list.

What is the best way to handle this?

Brining all users from Default environment to Production will solve access issue, but this may allow all users to access Production Environment to create PowerApps/PowerAutomate, which I prefer not to allow.

Any ideas?

    Hi,

After some searching/trial and error, I found the followings:

    1. Each environment, except default environment, can have a "Security Group".

    2. Users in the environment need the proper security role to access the Dataverse tables.

So, I used an Organization Wide group as the security group for the Production environment.

Then, I created a security role to access the Dataverse table for the PowerApp.

Then, I add members to this security role.  Since Organization Wide group is the security group for the environment, I can add Organization Wide group as a member.

When I used a test user account to access the App, I no longer see the error.

"You are not in the dataverse security group required for this apps environment"

"Error when trying to retrieve data from the network: The user is not a member of the origination"

Further, I used the test account to go into PowerAutomate/PowerApp, the account cannot create anything in Production Environment.  This is what I would like to see.

May be this is the solution(?).
