Hello all,
I have a SharePoint list that has a form on it (edited in PowerApps) but is not a "stand alone" Power App. Long story short, I need to restore to a previous version history. When in the SharePoint list, I can click "New" and then "Edit in PowerApps" to get to the normal PowerApps editing screen. From there, I can even go and look at version history and see which version is live. I cannot (at least to my knowledge) change the version history from this screen:
And then I get to this screen:
I don't see any way of selecting the previous version to restore to that version. Is this seriously only possible for "stand alone" PowerApps? I have a hard time believing we would track the Version History if we can't even revert back to the previous versions.
Thanks for chasing this down it was a BIG HELP you are a life saver!!!!! What a major miss by Microsoft!
It would have taken me hours as well if I had not found your entry. This is the best help I have come accross. Who would think that recovering would be so hard? Thank you!!
@worapol_s Any idea why this no longer appears to work. On my end none of the versions can be restored, I can't even delete the latest version I have? I need to be able to go back to that live version and pull some code that I modified by mistake in the latest saved version. I got to this point exactly as you instructed restore is disabled.
I am not seeing 3 dots when restoring SharePoint Form in PowerApps.
Is this was updated recently? I know I had this restore option before 😞
There is no 3 dots in an integrated app
Oh. My. Gosh. Thank you so much.
@worapol_s, man... What a ridiculous oversight by MS Dev. I love to hate PowerApps. It will be an incredibly tool for people like me but let's face it, it still has a very long way to go. So outrageously buggy at times.
Thanks heaps for this workaround. Life saver 🤘
Huge time saver - thank you for posting this!
I also ran into the same issue as @HD3. There is no option for me to Restore or "See more options for version management" from clicking "App version history" in the Power Apps.
1. Clicking "App version history"
2. Version history page doesn't allow any actions at all. There are no ellipses to access the version control functionality.
After struggling for hours, I finally found a way to restore previous versions of the Customize Form. Here is what I found:
1. In your SharePoint List, go to "Integrate" > "Power Apps" > "Customize forms" to open the custom form in Power Apps
2. Click "Share" (I know sharing has nothing to do with version control, but it will take you where you can access and restore previous versions)
3. After clicking "Share", you will land on this page. You can disregard the Share dialogue box and click on "Versions" tab in the background.
4. You now can access all the versions recorded with the option to restore and publish whichever version you like.
Hope this help whoever is in need!
