Does anyobdy know if on the page about Pricing (https://powerapps.microsoft.com/en-us/pricing/ ) the cost of $10

per user/app/month means users, who actually will use the app on the business side, or users, who use the Power Apps Studio to develop an launch the app?

    Both I believe. Everyone that wants to use the app will be served by the same type of licenses independently of being a developer or not...weird I know

    @powerbey

    First consider that those are for users/apps that actually need a license.  If you are an Office 365 licensed user, you already have a license for PowerApps and there is no further expense unless you plan to utilize Premium features in your app or flows.  THEN the reference pricing does apply.

    As for the designer part, designers do not need a license to build the app.  They can access premium features without any additional licenses, but they will be at least warned (and the premium items have a little diamond on them as well) that they are using a premium item and user of the app will need a premium license such as the $10 for 2 apps (yes, its really 2), or the $40 per user plan.  If the designer of the App wants to publish and play the app to Test it, they will need a valid license - either the Office 365 license for non-premium or the app/user license for premium.

    I hope this is helpful for you.

    Why has Powerapps been priced in such a way that for larger organisations or non-profit apps that require an SQL connection because Lists are unable to cope with large data sets being punished with such large costs. It makes it evening bothering to make an app futile when you're quoted £30k a month rather than buying some off the shelf product for £30k a year?

    Agree, it's a silly pricing methodology. Pushes people away.

    My guess (pure guess based on some of the latest buzz), you might be seeing some changes to this model in the near future.  I'd stake a cup of coffee on it, but not much more.  AND, of course, if they change it to be more cost effective for these scenarios, they're sure to change it later to something much less cost effective and much more confusing. 😩
