Hierarchy view doesn't work in model driven app

Hi,

I can't reproduce hierarchy view in my model driven app. I've followed this video as well as this documentation from MS.

However, even though my view shows hierarchy symbol and hierarchy works just fine (i can browse it in the view) and i've created a hierarchy in the table settings (dynamics 365 classic view), i get an error.

Anyone has an idea?
Thanks

    Hi @MatevzP

Check that you have the card form active and configured within the application so that the hierarchy view can be seen, as it pulls this form

As far as i know/understand, card view is not being used for this, but rather "Quick Form".
I couldn't get it to show up. Only main form and quick for available

    Hi @MatevzP

Sorry if it's the Quick View,

Did you check the hierarchy relationship?, the Quick View form is active by default when you create a new table, however you can create a new one

As you see in the following image, after creating the relationship, marking it as hierarchical and configuring the hierarchy appears in my app

Yes, i made sure that the relationship is hierarchical. otherwise there would be no hierarchy symbol in the form view on the OP screen shot
    this one:

    So yes, there is.

Not only that, in legacy CRM dynamics environment it works fine (check video). Just new Power Platform maker bugs out.

    Hi @MatevzP

I tested in an Application that I have the hierarchy and in the new appearance it works correctly.

I recommend opening a ticket to MSFT

¿Exactly the detail of the error, what is it when it tells it to show it to you?

Error is not descriptive at all.

I already did. We spend better part of the day on Friday. They had no solution. They are now working in the background, escalating and troubleshooting the issue.

When i get a response and working solution i will report back here.

Thanks for the help so far!

    Hi@MatevzP

Try exporting the solution to a new environment and check if the same error persists or not.

Sometimes environments become corrupted, and many times the solution is to restore

    Best regards

    Hi,

I tried creating new solution in a different environment, same thing.
But it turns out, the error is only there in maker app (when you edit the app), not in play mode (when end user actaully uses the app). So i will close this thing for now.

Support person said the same happens to them. In edit mode, it throws an error, in play mode it works fine.
must be some bug or something...

    Hi @MatevzP

The XRM of the application may be corrupted. I tell you an alternative, create a new App with all the components that your application has.
Create it in a new solution where you only place the app without the components

No, no. thanks for the suggestion, but i'm out of this game. I've already spend a day and a half testing/troubleshooting and in a meeting with support team regarding this issue, while no progress happened.
I am moving forward. It works just fine, the only thing is i have to press "play" to see the result. I'm fine with that 😄

    Thanks for the help though!
    Take care 🙂
