Embedded Power BI tile Says "content isn't available" - Suggestions Please!

I have an embedded Power BI tile that says "content isn't available" for user.

  • It works perfect when I am logged in.
  • I have confirmed that the user does have:
    • Report shared with them
    • Dashboard shared with them
    • Can view dashboard directly in Power BI
    • Has proper licenses for both Power Apps and Power BI

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi @computech ,

What license does the users have?

The users need to have "Power BI Pro License" to be able to view the report with this web part.  And users should be added as members of app workspace in Power BI service.

    Best regards,

    SIk

Hi @v-siky-msft  Thanks for your input. Yes the user does have a Power BI Pro license and can view the dashboards perfectly within Power BI. It's only in Power Apps that they get the message in the tile "This content isn't available." Learn more about Power BI.

However, the user is not a member of the work space.

Note: I added the member to the works space and now it's working. Thanks for that tip!.

My follow up question is why is it that the users can view the dashboard that I share with them in Power BI without being added as a member to the work space but not in Power Apps?

Tip if guest / organization users won't show "Power bi - Reports"  in Powerapps:

    Go to https://app.powerbi.com/

    1. Find "Datasets"

    2. "Manage permissions"

    3. Share user/guest in a) "Reports" and/or "Dashboards"

Thank you so much! I didn't realize I had to share BOTH the report AND the dashboard when I added new users. I didn't have to do this when I first set up the app with the original group!

Should the user be an internal user only? What if the app is to be accessed by both? I understand that Adding external users as workspace members won't be a good idea even though the external users have login and password.
    Thanks
