Custom Entries in a Combobox Galleries

Hi
In a Form element you can customise the Combobox to accept new 'choices' to be added to the list for next time selection usage.

Can this be done in a Gallery and patching back to sharepoint list?

If so how? 🙂

Thanks in advance Gary

    Hi @gazzo1967 ,

    I would imagine that you add a "add option" value to the Items of your ComboBox. The OnSelect property for that ComboBox then checks if the selected value is "add option" and if so, make a popup visible that contains a TextInput and a Submit button. After filling out the TextInput, the OnSelect of the Submit button should indeed patch the Text from the TextInput to the data source and somehow set this value as the selected value for the ComboBox.

    Hope the above makes sense, but if you run into issues, please let me know.

    OK after much digtging around i found a work around for this.
    I couldn't get it to work on a gallery but what i did was use the create app wizard from sharepoint list.
    On the edit form

    Select the card you want to update with the combobox in it  the following on the UPDATE part of the card.
    If(
    !IsBlank(DataCardValue24.Selected),
    DataCardValue24.Selected,
    If(
    !IsBlank(DataCardValue24.SearchText),
    {
    Value: DataCardValue24.SearchText,
    '@odata.type': "#Microsoft.Azure.Connectors.SharePoint.SPListExpandedReference"
    },
    Blank()
    )
    )

    This then allows you to type in your own custom entries which will then be available for the selection.
