Issues Adding OneDrive for Business as Data Source in Power Apps

Hi Microsoft Community,

I'm experiencing issues adding OneDrive for Business as a data source in Power Apps and would appreciate any assistance in resolving this.

Background:

I am working on a Power BI report where I have integrated an Excel file stored in OneDrive for Business. The Excel file contains data on marketing activities and is integrated into Power BI via SharePoint. I have successfully connected to the file in Power BI using the following method:

  • Connected to the SharePoint library where the Excel file is stored.
  • Imported the Excel workbook and selected the relevant sheet.

The Problem:

When I try to add the same Excel file as a data source in Power Apps, I receive an authentication error with the following message:

An error occurred during authentication.
Session ID: 6a73eb3a-538e-4c72-aff8-0355da6c6c7b

Steps I've Tried:

  1. Logged out of all Office 365 accounts and logged back in.
  2. Restarted the browser and tried using incognito mode.
  3. Cleared the browser's cache and cookies.
  4. Tried adding OneDrive for Business as a data source in different browsers (Chrome, Edge).
  5. Verified that I have the necessary edit permissions for the file in OneDrive for Business.
  6. Attempted to re-add the OneDrive for Business connection in Power Apps.

I can access and edit the Excel file directly from OneDrive for Business without any issues. The problem seems to occur when trying to connect the file as a data source in Power Apps.

Questions:

  1. Are there any known limitations or specific configuration settings that might cause this authentication error in Power Apps?
  2. Are there additional troubleshooting steps I can take to resolve this issue?
  3. Is there an alternative approach to connect the OneDrive for Business Excel file as a data source in Power Apps?

Any help or guidance to resolve this issue would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance for your assistance!

Best regards,
Luml
