Display Sharepoint documents in Model driven app

Hello is there any way to display SharePoint documents in the Model driven app ?  (Not in the Portal App)

I was referring this site Manage SharePoint documents - Power Apps | Microsoft Docs but it seems it supports only "Portal Apps" only

Please advise if that possible.

@rampprakash

I have the same question (0)

    Hi @skolisetti,

Yes, this is a standard configuration for Model Apps as well.

    https://www.crmsoftwareblog.com/2020/02/how-to-setup-a-dynamics-365-integration-with-sharepoint/

I know this article discusses Dynamics 365 but it is the same for general model apps and I know it is the legacy screens so let me know if you don't know how to get there...

Also it is supported from a licensing perspective currently:

Hope this helps.  Please accept if answers your question or Like if helps in any way.

    Thanks,

    Drew

    Hello @skolisetti,

    Yes it's possible

If SharePoint site already available you can use the same else create a new one by following

    First go to https://office.com

    Click SharePoint

    Create Site With Public

    And Add members if required

    Once done copy the URL.

    Now open Model Driven Apps

Click Gear Icon at the Top

    Then click Advance Settings

    Then Select Document Management

    Then Document Management Settings

    Input Copied URL

    Then Click Next

Then Select if you want Based on Entity you can select if any Parent to child Available

If not you can leave and click Next

Then Select the entity which you want to Enable for Document Location

    Then Click Next and Finish

Once done you can open the Entity record which you created for SharePoint document location, you can see a TAB for document.

    That's it 🙂

Let me know if you have any Queries.

    Hi @skolisetti ,

Have you enabled the table / entity for Document Management as well?  https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-platform/admin/enable-sharepoint-document-management-specific-entities

See the Setting Up SharePoint Document Management setting on the screen shot below.  You find this in the Settings of your table and under Advanced Settings.

    Hello!

I was able to enable the integration and i can see the repository inside my model driven power app!

It's specifically useful based on the fact that once the app creates a record in the entity, the system also creates the related new sharepoint folder and linked them!

    I have two doubts:

    1. i don't think that it will be possible to see folders inside the sharepoint folder which is visible inside the power app, is it?
    2. i percieve pretty hard to change the system rule used to create the default name of the folder in the sharepoint (record id + Hash)! Is it even possible to change it in some way?

Otherwise, which could be the solution to manage these two points?

Thank you for any help, supporto or suggestion!

    Hi @Gprior ,

Here are details on how to get rid of the GUID at the end of the folder name.  https://www.inogic.com/blog/2020/11/how-to-remove-guid-from-folder-name-in-dynamics-365-crm-and-sharepoint-integration/

    Hi,

    thank you @dpoggemann!

I've checked with collegues and we decided not to proceed as this fix is working at organization level.

It should not create any issue or impact any existing workflow but we are evaluating further

I'll keep you updated on this

    Thank you again
