[Beginner] Filter specific items from a SharePoint List

Hi everyone,

I'm a beginner to PowerApps.

I'm creating a list where different individuals in an ERG will enter goals and objectives for the year. This list is loaded into a SharePoint List, and when the goals are entered, they can be coded with a category for easy viewing and filtering.

Here's where PowerApps comes in -- I wanted to create a form that could be pulled up and auto-populate the information that was already entered, and have folks provide a quarterly update. I figured out how to do that and restrict the columns from being edited. What I would like to do is filter the gallery so that only one ERG's goals are displayed. Is there a way to do that?

    Hi @veetor77

I would need more information to help you build a Filter to do that. Do they have multiple goals per person?

Why do you only want to list one? Wouldn't you want to list them all (for that person) and when they click on one, it populates the Edit form?

So we would need to understand the fields and how to filter it, but you could the Top (1)  as part of your filter so that it only brings back one

If I have helped you, I would really appreciate if you please Mark my answer as Resolved/Answered, and give it a thumbs up, so it can help others

    Cheers

    Hi @FLMike ,

    Thank you for your reply.

I'm still new to PowerApps so it could be that I'm not sure how to ask what I am asking 🙂

I am working with multiple folks on my team that are responsible for various groups (ERGs). I would like to list all of the goals for a specific group (ERG) so that whoever is making the edits can just see all of their goals for their assigned ERG. The goals are being input into a SharePoint List and for visibility purposes, we are compiling all of the goals for all ERGs into one master list.

The PowerApp I am trying to create will give the ability to display the goals that were entered from that list, and update the status and outcomes of each goal per quarter. I'm trying to make this as seamless so that folks just have to click on something and enter the update, without risking changing any information.

I'm including a screenshot of how the information is compiled so that you can see the column names I have as well as how the information displays once it is entered.

Thank you again for your willingness to help!
