How to implicitly share a SQL Server Service Principal connection in a canvas application

Hi all,

I have an application that I want to share bundled with its SQL Service Principal connection, but I cannot figure out how to implicitly share the connection.

When I add the datasource to my application in the Canvas studio, and then choose the SQL Service Principal connection that I have created, my end users still get the connection prompt to create a SQL Server Principal connection. When sharing I also do not get the message that the conneciton will be implicitly shared.

Am I doint this wrong or is this simply not supported? If it is not supported, is it a case of "not finished yet" or is never going to be supported?

Update from my side: this functionality is not available as described in the connector limitations.

I have created an idea for the Power Platform team to implement the functionality. Should you run into this thread, consider upvoting the idea here.

I have the same question. I thought by using Service Principal the end user didn't have to worry about "Allowing" connection. They are being prompted for Tenant ID and Client ID and secret. Why?
