Picture for person column displays in browser but not when app launched via Teams

I have an app which displays the Picture for a person column in a sharepoint list, along with the name and other data.  The pictures display correctly when I run the published app in a browser (Chrome).

In a browser:

I have also added the very same published app to a Tab in Teams for ease of access, but unfortunately, in Teams, the pictures are not displaying.  (As above, the pictures should be displaying right in from of the large blurred box).

In a Teams Tab within a channel of a Team:

Also, I should note that when I choose a new person, the people picker also fails to display the picture of the individual.  It only displays name and email.  When I add someone via the browser version, all 3 fields - name, email and picture - display as planned.

My question is:  Why are pictures not showing up under Teams within the app and what can I do to get them to display?

Where are you pulling in the pictures from?  Office365, SharePoint?

The Person fields are stored in a sharepoint list.  I have two different fields, both exhibiting the same behavior.  Works just fine in the browser and editor.  It's only an issue under Teams.

    Hi @LRVinNC,

The app is likely not picking up the authentication for SharePoint when it's embedded. This happens in mobile devices as well. The browser is working because you're logged into SharePoint in the browser.

Thanks for posting in the community @LRVinNC - can you advise if you're still experiencing this issue and if the above reply was helpful?

    Thank you,

Yes, I am still experiencing it.  Brian's answered explained why it is likely happening but did not solve the problem.  I'm not clear on why the app would not pick up the authentication for Sharepoint while running under Teams?  What other problems might I run into running under Teams if this is true?
