For the last few days has anyone else been getting the attached server error when updating PCF code components in their Canvas apps?
I've tested with multiiple solution packages and across different envrionments.
At the momemnt, it's not possible to update Apps with newer versions of PCF components.
Great stuff! Thanks @DianaBirkelbach and @cchannon for help verifying the issue. I'll eagerly await the release as the workaround isn't really practical in the complex apps I have to manage the update on.
Thanks @DianaBirkelbach for providing the workaround.
This issue is fixed and is in the release pipeline.
Nice catch, @DianaBirkelbach! I was testing a custom page not a canvas app. Really interesting that the behavior is different there.
Hi @raymartinez ,
I've tried it out, and I get the same error when I try to upgrade a PCF in a Canvas App.
The only way it works for now is:
- open the Canvas App without upgrading the component ("Skip´")
- delete the component from your Canvas App
- close the app
- reopen the App
- import again the PCF in your Canvas App, and use it
PS: Probably won't help you, but who knows: in Custom Pages the upgrade of PCF components works.
Hope it helps!
I'm not seeing any issues, but that doesn't mean much. Have you tried just creating a Hello World PCF and adding that to a Hello World Canvas App to see if you can repro without any of your current App complexities?
Still no luck with this I'm afraid. Just wondering if anyone else is able to update code components at the moment in their apps?
PCFs in Canvas Apps have had a few issues since their introduction, I am sure you are aware. Did you try just removing the control from your App entirely, then re-adding it? Back when they were first introduced, this is what we had to do in order to update any PCFs in canvas apps.
