Help starting new App from Excel

G'Day all,

I have tried to create a new App by uploading from Excel several times and each time a table is created with only the first 20 rows of the Excel file. What am I doing wrong?

The screen clip below shows there should be 12,800 rows, yet only 20 rows are actually imported. Is there another step to be performed?

Thank you for your help.

Chris

    Hi,

Just curious, how much time had gone by?

Truthfully I am not sure, unless there started being duplicates somehow and it made it go brain dead.

@ChrisChong you're doing nothing wrong. The basic purpose of the preview window is to allow the user to validate the data they are about to upload by displaying a very small subset of your data.

Once you click create, all rows will be loaded but will may take a while depending on your data volumes.

Just seconds until the screen clip appeared.

Thanks for your response, however, I did click the Create App button--each attempt. Same result: Just the 20 preview rows loaded into the resultant table. Ideas?

    Hi

This is why I was asking if you had waited enough time. It only loads a small fraction initially to show you what its going to do.

It should load the rest over time. I think you may not be giving it enough time. Worse case, do one more create then just let it run for several hours.

    Cheers

@ChrisChong - I just created 5000 rows into my environment and it loaded in 10 minutes.

I wonder if it is environment related. Could you try loading the data into a different environment?

It seems that there was one field in the Excel data that exceeded the allowed length and that was causing the hangup.  I thank you for your suggestion.
