Hello everyone,

I’m currently trying to develop an app using the vibe.powerapps.com experience. The app that the AI generated was great right from the start, but it required a few tweaks to meet my requirements.

At the moment, I’m facing two challenges and have tried several options, but none seem to work so far.

Challenge 1: The app is unable to detect the currently logged-in user. In Canvas Apps, we normally use the User() function, but that doesn’t appear to work here. I assume the app should be using Entra ID to retrieve the user’s profile information, but I haven’t been able to access it yet.

Challenge 2: I’m unable to upload attachments to a SharePoint document library. I understand that without the user context, authentication and authorization may not work correctly, so resolving the first challenge seems critical.

Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Hello,

There is no way to manually add it, but Vibe coded Power Apps dont have the normal User() Context. I havnt tried it, but you can try prompting it to add user information via the Office 365 Users connector.

Thank you for your response, Fredrik. I’ll give it a try and update you on the outcome. So far, I’ve prompted it to use the Dataverse API and the AAD user object information. The response I receive indicates that the app has access to this data, but it’s unable to display it on the UI or make use of it.

CU07032239-0 I am also struggling with the similar kind of issue , unable to the get the current log in user that we can get easily using user () in canvas apps. Have you got any solution for this ?
