Simple Date Business Rule

This is killing me and it should be simple.  Error it the end date is earlier than the start date.  Does anyone have a business rule already that they can snip it?

    Hey @damian_green23

I think you only need to cater for the bottom

    two conditions.

Create a new business rule from

the table you want the business rule to run on.

Drag a condition step over, choose the start date as the field, and the check is if it doesn’t contain data.

Click the New+ at the top of this condition, and then select the end date and check to see if it contains data, on the yes side add an message component and put in your message and apply it to the start date field.

Next drag another condition component under the first one and set it up much in the same way but this time choose the start date is greater than the end date.

Copy and paste the error message from the yes condition above.

Save the business rule, validate and activate.

Thanks for the inspiration.  Here's the visual for what I built.

    damian_green23_0-1704757506217.png

    IF
Actual End Date does not contain data
    THEN
Set Actual Start Date as Not Business Required
Set Actual End Date as Not Business Required
    ELSE IF
Actual Start Date does not contain data
    THEN
Set Actual Start Date as Business Required
    ELSE IF
Actual End Date less than or equal Actual Start Date
    THEN
Show the error message "Actual End Date is before the Start Date, please update." against field Actual End Date
    -----
    Visual in the app.
    1) If actual end date is populated, then actual start date gets the * business required and you'll get the error when you try and save.

    2) And if End Date is earlier than Start date, you get the other error message.

@damian_green23 if my initial response helped, can you mark it as the solution ? Thanks.

Your response was helpful in pointing me the right direction but since I implemented a specific rule and posted it, I marked that as the solution.
