Adding site component to solution

Hi,

I have been having a weird issue when adding existing site components to a solution. At first, when selecting and adding the components there is a very long loading time and then no response. There seems to be a timeout error on the page so it's not obvious but the components are being added and 15 minutes later they appear in the solution.

Has anyone had a similar issue? Could it be caused by the size of the solution ? There is only 1 site in the solution with around 600 elements total.

Thank you,

Yes! Exactly the same issue here, and yes it does seem they eventually get added but it takes a looong time. Pretty annoying and seems there is a lot of background processing in enhanced data model that we don't have insight into.

We're going to try setting the "Preferred Solution" in the environment and see if that makes a difference for where new components end up. Ideally Pages would automatically add new components to a solution when the Site itself is in the solution - seems like that would be fairly trivial logic to add.

Let me know if you made any progress in understanding and workarounds.

We are experiencing the same issue while adding even a single site component to solution, anybody got figured this out?

Try breaking down your solution into smaller chunks or using solution segmentation.
Allow the process to finish by giving it some time (as you did). After the 15-minute delay, everything seems to appear correctly. If this becomes a recurring issue, splitting the solution into smaller chunks, as mentioned above, can help prevent this long processing time.

I see this is an older thread but this same thing is happening when I add a Site Component to a Solution. I've noticed that even when I'm only adding a single component the default behavior seems to "Add all Required objects" of the Site, which it shouldn't be doing. It also adds in Forms, Columns, and Views for tables that are specific to our Model Driven App and should not be in the solution for our Power Pages Site. This causes constant Solution Layer issues for us and it's a big issue. This "glitch" needs to be fixed in Power Platform.
