Date not populating in excel from PowerApp

Hi,

From looking at forums, it seems that its not straight forward for dates to be read between excel and PowerApps.

So I have an Excel on Sharepoint that is my Data Source.

In the PowerApp, I have a few different DataCards that will create a new row in the data source when submitted.

All the data cards work, except for the date one. It will not send any data into it for what ever reason.

If I change the data source to a SP list, it populates the date data no problem.

Is there something in particular, I should be doing differently to get the date into my Excel file?

Its not a big deal if it cant be done, as I have a flow working with this, and I can use the flow to populate the date instead.

Ive tried changing the format of the cells in the excel sheet to text/number/date format etc and nothing appearing.

    Hello @JohnB2

Excel is an okay data source but a bad data store based on my experience in helping people here in PowerApps. There is even a dedicated video discussing concerns about it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RtmZM3tm2Zs

As for the possible solutions to your case,

    (1) re-attach the data source. you've mentioned you've made changes to the date format so try updating it again cause a simple refresh from the data store doesn't work.

    (2) double check if all the data in the column are dates, there might be some that is not in date format. having this set does the trick sometimes.

Okay, its working now. I have no idea🙈. I used to refresh the data source each time when I would change the format etc. But it needed to be removed completely and reattached.
