How can I reduce WebResourceBase?

It hasn't even been a month since I started Microsoft365.

So I don't understand the current situation very well.

There are 5 people in the team including me.

I'm subscribed to Microsoft365 Business Basic, Microsoft Power Automatic Free, Microsoft Teams Free, Project Plan 3. I'm only using teams, projects, planners.

And we know that project professional, sharepoint, and PowerAutomate are used for these services.

Then, using Microsoft Power Automate, we created six flows that forgot the planner and the project.

Then by chance, through https://admin.powerplatform.microsoft.com, I was assigned a 1GB database and confirmed that I was using 1.43G. I could confirm that WebResourceBase was a large part of capacity.

I wanted to reduce WebResourceBase by referring to https://docs.microsoft.com/ko-kr/power-platform/admin/free-storage-space, but it didn't shrink at all.

I asked the customer service center, but I was told to purchase additional capacity.

I don't understand why I've exceeded the capacity when I thought I'd done nothing in particular.

And even though I have subscribed to the service, I can't understand whether the basic capacity for service use is not provided.

I wonder if there is no answer but to purchase additional capacity because the essential resource for service use is over 1GB, as the customer service center answered.

    Hi @Anonymous

You cannot reduce the Web Resource Base capacity usage, unless you remove any of custom web resources from that you have created in the environment.  Each environment comes with a base set of web resources that make out-of-the-box model driven apps work, you cannot remove these.

The upside to this is that Microsoft moved the Web Resource Base from database storage to file storage which is significantly cheaper if you need to purchase extra capacity

WebResourceBase is now in File instead of DB - Notice the capacity in Admin portal - Microsoft Dynamics 365 Community

    Hi pluto94,

The WebResourceBase table in CDS is composed of "WebResources", which are basically different files used in webpage rendering: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Images, and so on.  Some details can be found here: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/powerapps/developer/model-driven-apps/web-resources

Out of the box, CDS comes with a bunch of these WebResources that make your model-driven apps run and look good.  Those files add up, and the end up being significant in size.

    Important to note:

    1. You only need to be under your allocated capacity if you plan on creating more environments.
    2. To create an environment you always need at least 1 GB of unused capacity.  Each environment uses at least 1 GB of capacity by definition.

Taken together, that means that if you want to create new environments, you will need to get additional CDS storage capacity.  This would be true regardless of how large/small the WebResourceBase table is.

If you have no interest in creating more environments, then you don't really have to take any action.

    I hope this helps,

    Tom
