Dataverse Rollup Column for a Rollup column?

Hi,

I have a parent-child relationship for 3 entities, Master Labels and Label Batches and label Rolls. In label batches, i have a rollup column looking at the number of labels in the child - Labels Rolls. Ie if we have 3 rolls in a batch with 100 labels each. the rollup column in Label Batches - Total Labels in Batch = 300.

Now I want to create a rollup column in Master Labels that shows the total labels within all the batches. But i dont have the option to create this aggregation.

Can you not create a rollup column for a rollup column? If not are there alternative ways to achieve this?

I have the same question (0)

    Hi @Rajath_mk

Hello, the RollUp field only works for parent and child relationships. In Dataverse there is no Father Son Grandson so to speak, although we can model it that way.

If you are already using Rollup in your Label Lots and Label Rolls relationship, now what you have left is to create a numerical field and be able to add with a Javascipt function to be able to replicate the functionality. You must add the onload event of the grid so that it can be added each time you add a new record, but you must also add the event when it is deleted

gridContext.addOnLoad (Client API reference) in model-driven apps - Power Apps | Microsoft Learn

gridContext.removeOnLoad (Client API reference) in model-driven apps - Power Apps | Microsoft Learn

Here's an alternative using Power Automate
