Adding colors to the events of the PCF Calendar Control

I have some troubles giving colors to my events in the PCF Calendar Control in model driven app.
The calendar shows a whole bunch of events and every event has an eventtype-field (a look-up-field to another table with data about the eventtypes and their color (a stringfield with a hex colorcode filled in)). I have tried almost every possible combination of referring, but i can't seem to set the colors of my different eventtypes. I've read the documentation and tried referring to the related table and its stringfield with hexcode from the component properties.
Does anyone happen to know what I'm doing wrong? Or could anyone provide a easy example of what to fill in in the properties-menu?
Thank you, kind regards.

Thanks for that. That control is open source and would need to contact the author and/or edit the source code yourself: https://github.com/rwilson504/PCFControls/tree/master/Calendar. Not the answer you were hoping for but hope it helps...

Every answer is welcome, thank you

I already contacted the owner. I kinda hoped someone here had the same issue and knows how to fix it.

    Kind regards
