Hi all,

I created program and Power Apps Canvas which is using data from Dataverse table (only read) and using custom connectors(for using API from Azure Functions). 20 persons from my Company are with license "Power Apps for Office 365" only and they can use this application without a problem.

I saw that with this license Custom Connector can be used in case it will use API from Azure, but I am not sure.

Could somebody help me with this urgently as I must report to the Client.

As per my knowledge till now for Dataverse Table and for Custom Connector we need a plan for Power Apps, but as the above is happen I am a little confuse.

Thanks in advance

    Hi @Anonymous

Dataverse is a premium connector (unless you are connecting to Dataverse for Teams (https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-platform/admin/about-teams-environment

Any custom connectors are also Premium so you would need a license to call these from your Canvas App as well.

Microsoft does not enforce everything all the time from the code perspective and you need to follow the licensing specifications.  Overall if you are connecting to a full Dataverse environment through your Canvas app then you will need a minimum of a Power Apps Per App license for each user that is using the Canvas App.

    Hi @dpoggemann ,

Thanks for your reply. Mentioned from you I am familiar. My question is other: practically now Canvas App is using from persons which have only 365 license (no any plan for Power Apps) and this Canvas app read only from Dataverse tables and use Custom Connector using API from Azure. I found in Microsoft that users 365 can use Custom Connector which using API from Azure and also I read that MS gave some access to users 365.

If somebody know more about that I am thanking in advance

    Hi @Anonymous ,

If you are using a custom connector that is and Azure API that connects to read from Dataverse this is still a premium connector and you will need to pay Power Apps licensing for any users utilizing the application.

Maybe someone will answer with something I am unaware of but this is my understanding.
