Hi!

Is it possible to restrict data access in the Power Apps application based on users' membership in the Distribution Group?

I have an "Onboardings" gallery, and I want users from "Trainings," "HR," and "Finance" to see different information based on the onboarding status. For example, if the "HRStatus" is "In Progress" or "Completed," the "HR" user should only see onboardings with these statuses.

Hi,

I usually access control based on the user set which comes with each app (if required) but you could try:

Office365Users.UserProfileV2(User().EntraObjectId).department

and base IF() on the result.

Hi, thank you for your answer. But the thing is that users would be hardcoded, am I right? In this situation, I need to set data access by the distribution group.

not necessarily hardcoded because you can present controls based on the role, it won't work if you have to target individual persons.

If i have to do that e.g. i have admin panel which is access by whole team but i want some settings be available to selected ones, I create a list where i store entraid of those selected users, and check if they can access it by comparing User().EntraObjectId with that list, before i send app to BAU i always create functionality to edit that list from within the app, I add one admin which cannot be deleted from the list and allow other members of that list to add delete members of that list.
