I noted today that the display of a tooltip in a Dropdown control is being restricted by the padding. For example, if I set the padding to T:0, B:0, L:5, R:0, the tooltip will not be displayed. If I change the setting to T:1, B:1, L:5, R:1 the tooltip will display but only if the mouse pointer is placed in a limited area in the control. If I change the setting to T:10, B:10, L:10, R:10, the tooltip will display when the mouse pointer is over most of the inside of the control.
This is the wrong behavior for a tooltip which should display anytime the mouse pointer is anywhere inside the control. The display of the dropdown's tool tip should not be limited by padding. BTW, this is also inconsistent with the Combo Box control which does not care about padding when displaying a tooltip.
