About using Premium Connectors

After doing some research, I had a plan to purchase 1 Power Apps Standalone plan and assign it to a user who would be building a Power App using CDS. I was informed that would be the only Standalone plan I would need, and the rest of the business users would be able to use the App as part of their Microsoft 365 Business Standard license.

  1. Do you agree that this should work, and that the app will know which users can build the app and which users can run the app?
  2. The users are receiving the message “You Power Apps trial has expired. You’ll need a Power Apps premium plan to use the features in this app. To keep working extend your trial.” I have removed the Power Apps Plan 2 trial license from those users as they can no longer extent the trial.

Please tell me that a standalone license is not needed for every user that wishes to use an app that utilizes a premium connector like CDS or SQL.

@Pstork1 i am guessing you already answered this here https://powerusers.microsoft.com/t5/Building-Power-Apps/Licensing-Premium-Connectors/m-p/500133 which makes me sad. Same situation?

    1) No, any user who builds or uses an App with a premium connection will have to have either a per App (covering that one app) or per User license.

    2) See #1 they need a premium license to use the app, not just to build it.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but every user who runs the app with a premium connector will need a premium license.

Same situation.  They need either a per app license for that app or a per user license which will cover as many apps as they want.  Each user will need one or the other of those.
