The old Licensing conundrum

Hello,

I have built my first app using Data verse but struggling to get the licensing working.

I have purchased the PowerApps Per app plan.

In the Power Admin Center, I have added them to the environment / Capacity - see attached - add ons - assigned.

I have shared the apps with the users.

In the app itself / Settings - Pass Assignment is set to YES.

When I share the app, I can request license. In Sharepoint Admin I am getting this on the request - You don't own a product that can be used for this request - but I was sure that Power Apps per plan was okay to use on Premium apps?

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

    Hi @CraigRooney

Power Apps Per App plan can be used for premium connectors (i.e. Dataverse).  Do you have multiple environments?  The App Passes are tied to a specific environment.

Did you build a model-based app or a canvas based app as the sharing functionality is different for these types of applications...

Example, if you are sharing a Model Application you need to select the App under sharing and then identify the specific roles you are assigning the application to.  You do not have to share with the individuals.  The role will provide them access.

    Example:

Its a canvas app. There are multiple environments but I have assigned them to the right one.

In the Canvas app when sharing, the roles you are mentioning are pre assigned. Im just working them out just now. They are assigned Basic User which I would have assumed was enough.

    Hi @CraigRooney

You would need to create a custom role for your tables to provide the users access to your custom dataverse tables.  https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-platform/admin/database-security#create-or-configure-a-custom-security-role

Once you create this custom role then assign the application to this role and the users to this role and they should be able to utilize.

This is nearly working. I have created the new security role. The app displays for the users as does all the functions, but despite selecting Write - I cant save to the main table. Obviosuly the right track though.
