New Dataverse Manage Capacity Allocation Features

I found some fun new features in my M365 development tenant Power Platform admin center the other day, under Billing > Licenses > Dataverse.
I couldn't find much/any documentation on these new features and was wondering if anyone has some insight into the details of how they work.

For example:
  1. If I uncheck the 'Draw from the available capacity in my tenant' box - what will the behavior be if that specific environment exceeds the allocation?
  2. How is the 'available to be allocated' value calculated? Is it a total of any/all Dataverse tenant capacity sources, including tenant default, user licenses, and additional capacity/add-ons? And if so, what if we've already allocated associated add-ons (licenses) to another environment via the Resources > Capacity > Add-ons management? Is the Dataverse capacity for those add-ons still included in available for any environment?
  3. Once I've allocated Dataverse capacity to a specific environment, will it be unusable by another environment? And if so, how will that change the alerts/behavior for overages? Since a specific environment can now be over capacity, while the tenant as a whole is not.
I have the same question (0)

    Great questions. Personally I would direct these to the Microsoft side of the fence versus the community side, simply as they would be able to directly tell you accurately what they mean.

    @Michael E. Gernaey - I did that too! If/when I get a response, I'll post it here.
    Also thought I'd hit up the community since it seems like some MS folks sometimes lurk here...

    Does anyone know the answers to these questions? I’m particularly interested in the impact that not assigning capacity has on environment performance.

    My production environment uses 80 GB, the tenant has 8 TB available, the environment itself has 0 GB assigned, and the option “Draw from the available capacity in my tenant” is enabled.

    So the question is: does this setup have a negative impact on the environment’s performance, or would it be better to allocate specific number of GB to the environment?

    We have asked earlier by raising a ticket .

    If you uncheck “Draw from available tenant capacity”, the environment basically becomes restricted to only what you’ve allocated. So if it exceeds that,

    you’ll likely start seeing notification as its soft  limitv (not just warnings).

    i would recommend raise a support ticket to get the official response
