Excel import from table not showing any data after completed?

Hi all,

I'm simply trying to export data from one environment to another.

I export data to excel and download the Excel workbook. I then click 'import from Excel' in the other environment (same table). No errors appear and when I go to the 'My imports' section, I can see that the import 'completed' under status reason.

The problem is that I cannot see any records imported into the table. No 'errors' or 'failures' show under the My Imports section and neither do any 'successes'?

The data I am trying to import contains multi select option sets and dropdown selections. Could this be the issue?

Thank you to anyone that can help!

Hello, @Usernametwice23, The choices columns values should not cause an issue when importing from Excel to Dataverse as long as your Dataverse table has the correct choices values created in the Choices list. Not to mention that you should get an error if that is the case. As best practice to move data from one environment to another, is to use Dataflows. If your Dataverse table schemas are identical, then create Dataflows to move the data from Environment to another. Make sure that you have Alternate Keys setup if you are moving the data between the two environments as part of an integration process or ALM.

Usually when you do a data import and nothing gets created it is because it thinks it is performing an update rather than an insert.

You may need to edit the source file (can try unhiding the frist 3 columns, and clearing the do not delete checksum column), or copy the data to another file save it as .csv or XML 2003, and then import it from the Data Import section in Advanced (i.e. not the Excel import).
