Power Apps Visual in Power BI ( Debug )

Hi All,

I am doing write back in Power BI using Power Apps Custom visual. Write back is happening successfully for few users and for only one user write back is not happening. That user is having all the access to the Apps. How we can debug an app after hosting for such scenarios.

Thanks,

Daya

    Hi @Dayananthan ,

Could you please share a bit more about your scenario?

Do you mean that only one of your end users could not write data back to data source?

Which data source do you want the data to be written back to?

Currently, I could not reproduce your issue on my side. Please check if the user (this issue related to) has enough permission to access the data source which the embedded canvas app writes data back to.

If you want the user to be able to write data back to corresponding data source using canvas app, you need also to share the corresponding data source to the end user.

More details about sharing app resource, please check the following article:

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/powerapps/maker/canvas-apps/share-app-resources

In addition, please also consider re-share your canvas app, data source and your Power BI report with the end user, then check if the issue is solved.

    Best regards,

Yes only one user was not able to update back to Azure SQL Database. I have checked with few users and they can able to write back to database successfully. Bascially I have developed one Power BI report in that I have implemented Power Apps visual so that user can give comments to the data points. When user clicks on the submit it does not throw any errors so it looks bit weird to know what the issue was. I have tried removing the Power Apps share twice and Connection used in the Power Apps are implictly shared and i made sure that his name was there in permission with "Can Use". Even i made Co-owener of that Power App and tried 🙂 nothing worked. And also i made sure that user clicked Allow ( ie Alert to use connections ) before he start using the power app

My questions is how we can do expection handling in such cases any ideas? I want to know when user clicks on the submit button what happens in the background and if its failing how to see error or logs.
