Dyn365 and PowerApps flow: edit case status on new portal comment

Hi,

We'd like the following to happen:

1. A case in Dynamics365 has the status 'Waiting on reply'

2. The customer replies via the Portal on the specific case

3. The status of the case in Dynamics365 gets updated to 'Reply received'

What would be the best on how to get this to work?

Thanks in advance!

    Hi @Robbertoo,

You can trigger a Flow when a new row is added to the Portal Comment table in Dataverse.

    • Add a Dataverse action Get a Row by ID to retrieve the related Case record.
    • Add a Condition to check if the case status is equal to Waiting on Reply (if it's a choice field you'll need to specify the numeric value here and not the label text)
    • For the yes branch, use the Dataverse Update a Row action to update the Case status to Reply Received (again use the numeric value of Status is a choice field)

    Hey Chris,

Thanks for a little help in the right direction!

I can't seem to figure out step 2 tho.

    I try the following:

In the dynamic content box, I'm unable to find the related case record.
