Hi all,
I have an email flow that should email the original requester that has submitted a task in my power app canvas about the status progress. But for some reason the power app takes NOT the email of the original requester, but the email contact of the person who has updated the status of the request. Would be lovely if someone could help out.
Hi @borisbrs
It's not clear to me which fields you are using to know the difference between who updated the request and who created the request. If you are using the in-built SharePoint columns:Author: 'Created By'.Email is who submitted/created the recordEditor: 'Modified By'.Email is who updated the record
Are there other fields that capture who submitted versus who updated?
Thank you for commenting , really appreciate. So when you asked now i realized that I have only one column reflecting the email of the person who has created the request, after your comment I also tested and it seems, that when the Admin comes and updates the status of the form is takes his email and updates the SharePoint column for some reason.
So as an example:
Mr Bob creates the request and his email is automatically published in the SharePoint column "Requestor_Email"
When Admin comes and changes the status to expl." Waiting respon" ,SharePoint after that updates the column "Requested Email" to the Admin user email.
OK so the original requestor email should be in column "Requestor_Email" so long as the logic you've described is working correctly
Yep , but it changes the column "requestor email" after the admin makes any changes to the Form to his Email. I think that is the reason why my "Requestor email" notification is sent incorrectly. If there are any suggestions to prevent it doing that would be great.
So your flow needs a tweak.
Somewhere in your flow, there is an Update Item action that is setting the Requestor field instead of the Requested field
I checked the all scope , didn't find anything what is triggering it to be updated. The flow goes like this.
