Is it possible to retrieve groups and their members from Microsoft Entra ID?
I need to create a feature for searching employees. My plan is to use Power Apps to build the dashboard and connect it to Microsoft Entra ID. The goal is to add a combo box to filter groups and a search box to find users within those groups. The group members would then be displayed in a gallery.
I've been exploring the Microsoft Entra ID connector but am unsure how to use it effectively. Should I use Power Automate to retrieve data from Entra ID and display it in Power Apps, or can this be done entirely within Power Apps?
If the above approach isn’t feasible, feel free to suggest an alternative solution. I would appreciate not getting any ChatGPT answers since it suggests some actions that doesn't exist.
Microsoft Entra ID connector to get all groups and users
Yes you can! I use it to define an admin group in a collection that controls access to a settings screen. You need an Office groups data source.
I then collect the groups members like so:
ClearCollect(
colGroupMembers,
Office365Groups.ListGroupMembers("<Entra Group Object ID>").value
);
You can get a list of groups using:
Office365Groups.ListGroups({'$top':100}).value
you can also use a $filter in list groups so perhaps tying it to an input box to filter on group name or something if you want a search
