Can you include data in a solution

Hi,

I have successfully created and distributed solutions with custom Dataverse Tables, and was wondering if it is possible to include data in managed solutions?

In my use case I have a set of core business data that is included in a number of "Master Data" Tables. Ideally I'd like to ship that data as part of my solution, rather than have to recreate it once the solution has been imported.

Hi @rmcmun

There is no way to include data in a solution that I'm aware of. You can export the data and then import it in the new environment. Or if there is nothing currently in production, you can just copy your entire dev environment in the Power Platform Admin Center.

I know the solution was accepted, but the following may be useful for you or others that read this thread later.

It depends on what you need etc. Generally a Solution file does not contain reference/master data etc, however depending on what you needing there are several options:
Environement variables - these are packed in the solution file (see https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/powerapps/maker/data-platform/environmentvariables )
Data Migration Tool - export data from one environment and move it to another (see https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/powerapps/developer/data-platform/developer-tools )
Package Deployer - this tool allows you to package Solution Files and Data Migration files as one package, this requires some technical knowledge to implement (see https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/powerapps/developer/data-platform/developer-tools ).
