Hello. I am new to the Power Platform and Power Apps since one month, developping a small (for the moment) data model driven app, with no or little code.
At the same time, I am delighted by the power of being able to create "Dynamics" like apps with no code, but also annoyed by some strong limitations, particularly due to the fact I have four levels of tables with 1:N relationship. Something like customer, opportunity, offer and product (it's not my entities but this is more comprehensible).
- views are limited to two levels or data (or two + one lockup field), for example I can have in the same view the opportunities and offers, and only the customer name (because it's part of the relationship), but not any other information on the customer. More that often I need to address more than two levels in my views.
- same for displaying data in the headers and subgrids, particularly when I want to filter a subgrid on a data point which is two levels above and is the lockup field.
- same for generating a word template like for an invoice where I need at the same time like the customer name and address, and data points about the products. I start to look at Power Automate but seems crazy and not sure it will not have the same of issues.
- same for the report feature
- etc.
Only with Power BI, thanks to its own data modeling capability, I am able to reconcile the four levels and offer visuals like lists that I would like to provide in the app.
Until now I was more a SQL guy used to navigate easily in the data and create views with everything I needed.
Not sure there is solution to that, but I would be very happy to get some feedback, avdices or workaround, if any...
Thank you in advance !
