Moving Agent from Personal Developer to Sandbox Environment

Hello,

I'm having difficulty moving my agent from my Personal Developer environment to my Sandbox Environment. I've tried to export the agent via solutions like I've read, but I'm at a roadblock. Does anyone have good advice or a place for clearer step by step instructions?

There is not enough information. If you say you are having issues you have to explain the issues, as the proper way to do it is using a solution, export as a managed (or unmanaged) and import it.

So please explain your issues and show them. You are asking for step-by-step instructions but you haven't explained what you did and what didn't work.

As @Michael E. Gernaey mentioned, we don’t have the full details of your issue, but here is a step-by-step guide that might help you get unstuck:

In Personal Developer environment (where agent is built)

Open Copilot Studio https://copilotstudio.microsoft.com

On the left menu, click Solutions

Create a new solution or open your existing custom solution

Click Add existing → Agent

Select your agent from the list → click Add

In the solution, click + Add existing again and add all Power Automate flows, connection references and environment variables your agent uses
If you are not sure use Add required objects (See screenshot)

Click Export and choose Managed

Download the .zip file

In Sandbox environment

In Copilot Studio, switch to Sandbox environment

Go to Solutions → Import solution

Upload the .zip file you exported

During import:
Map connection references to real connections in Sandbox
Set environment variable values (if prompted)

Once imported, go to Copilots, open your agent

Reconnect knowledge sources if needed (e.g. SharePoint, files)

Test and Publish the agent

Thank you! I get to this part below, and during import I learn I'm missing the dependency Copilot PVC Bot and I'm prompted to install it. During install, it just halts and seems to be installing, but it never finishes. I'm wondering if it should take that long and why it won't complete.

In Sandbox environment

In Copilot Studio, switch to Sandbox environment

Go to Solutions → Import solution

Upload the .zip file you exported

During import:

try this:

1. Go to the Power Platform Admin Center:

https://admin.powerplatform.microsoft.com

2. Select your Sandbox environment

3. Click Resources → Dynamics 365 apps

4. Look for Copilot PVC Bot in the list:

If it’s already listed, click it and try reinstall,

if it’s not listed, click Install app

5. In the install list, search for:

Copilot PVC Bot

6. Select it → Click Next → Choose environment → Install

Then wait for the installation to complete before importing your solution.
