Seeking Suggestions for Detailed PowerApps Usage Analytics

Hi everyone,

I’m currently exploring ways to track and analyze usage for PowerApps, specifically canvas apps. While I’ve found that the Power Platform Admin Center (PPAC) provides valuable insights into tenant and environment usage, I’m looking for more detailed analytics, such as:

  • Number of users per app
  • Frequency of app usage
  • Top apps by unique users/app sessions

A fellow user recommended checking the Purview audit logs for canvas app launch data, which seems promising.

I would love to hear from the community if anyone has:

  • Experience accessing and extracting detailed usage data
  • Suggestions for best practices or tools to enhance reporting accuracy
  • Helpful links or guides on how to work with Purview audit logs

Any insights would be greatly appreciated!

    This sounds like you need to install the Centre of Excellence toolkit - it provides tools and functionality for viewing exactly this kind of data without having to individually check the analytics on each App.
     
     
    There's a lot more than that you could do with it, but as a start it would satisfy your need to see number of users and frequency and top apps by unique users. There are a bunch of additional features you can install as separate solutions, so please make sure to review if you want more than the base CoE Toolkit
