PowerApps not responding and return the error pa-static-ms.azureedge.net in the UAE location only. In the Qatar location, the powerapps is working fine.
Hi all,
@Akser is correct - this issue is caused by a regression in the latest version of Chrome/Edge that started rolling out to users earlier this week.
There is a separate thread here reporting the same issue:
Re: pa static MS azureedge.net error - Page 3 - Power Platform Community (microsoft.com)
As an update though, we recently deployed a mitigation on the Power Apps side to workaround the issue. You should be able to republish your app with the latest Power Apps version to resolve.
Instructions for republishing your app with the mitigation are detailed on the support page:
https://powerapps.microsoft.com/en-us/support/
But also adding them here for reference:
Title: Canvas app degradation in Microsoft Edge and Google Chrome browsers on version 109 and greater
User Impact: Users may have experienced canvas app failures in the Microsoft Edge and Google Chrome browsers on version 109 and later.
The issue has been resolved. If your canvas app experienced a failure, you must republish the app with the latest Power Apps version.
Mitigation steps:
In the Power Apps Studio, ensure your app is using one of the below Power Apps authoring versions:
• 3.23011.20
• 3.23012.17
• 3.23013.11
You can view the authoring version of your app using the instructions here:
https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-apps/maker/canvas-apps/studio-versions
If the app is not using one of the above versions, you can change it using the instructions here:
https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-apps/maker/canvas-apps/studio-versions
After making a change to the authoring version of the impacted app, make a change to the app, save, and republish.
Thanks,
Ryan
I received the following message from Microsoft Support
The tentative timeline for a release of this fix is by the end of this week. Please note, this timeline is tentative and subject to change as testing with potential changes could reveal additional issues.
Using another medium (e.g. Firefox, Teams) seems to be the only workaround at the moment.
Title: Canvas app degradation in Microsoft Edge and Google Chrome browsers on version 109 and greater
User Impact: Users may experience canvas app failures in the Microsoft Edge and Google Chrome browsers on version 109 and greater.
More Info: The following workarounds are available at this time:
If you are on a version of Chrome or Edge less than version 109, please disable automatic updates of your browser as noted on the following documentation:
Microsoft Edge - https://learn.microsoft.com/deployedge/microsoft-edge-update-policies#update-policy-override-default
Google Chrome - https://support.google.com/chrome/a/answer/6350036
If you are on version 109 or greater, please rollback to version 108 or earlier using the following documentation:
Microsoft Edge - https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/deployedge/edge-learnmore-rollback
Google Chrome - https://support.google.com/chrome/a/answer/7125792?hl=en#zippy=%2Cstep-downgrade-chrome
Additionally, users can use an alternate non-Chromium based browser for canvas apps.
Current Status: After our investigation, we identified a code regression was applied to Chromium based browsers on version 109 and greater that is resulting in large canvas apps running some formulas to experience processing failures, resulting in the impacted app freezing. We are creating a fix for this issue for the underlying Power Apps service.
Incident Start Time: Monday, January 16, 2023, at 8:29 PM UTC
Next Update: Wednesday, January 18, 2023, at 8:00 PM UTC
Same issue, started yesterday and affects many sites (Northern Europe).
Tested Chrome, Edge, FireFox and windows app. Firefox seems to work best at the moment, but its horrible slow.
Issue is both in edit and play mode.
I have users experiencing a similar issue, some explanation on the root cause and possible mitigations would be appreciated.
We also got this error in HKT zone and the PowerApps become very very slow which cannot be operated, what is the problem?
I am also getting this error in US when accessing the same app from Edge, Chrome or Teams, but not in NY/Toronto area. This has been ongoing since Friday, please update.
Powerapps Same application in the Qatar region is working fine, But when it access from the UAE region it is not responding and slow and gives the below error
PowerApps error pa-static-ms.azureedge.net
