AI Builder text recognition create an index with letter "O"

Hi all,

I'm facing a problem with AI Builder.

I'm using "Text recognition" from Dataverse predict with AI Builder on Power Automate in order to scan text inside PDF.

When i analyse the outpout, its adding a index with the letter "O" without any reason. The PDF in visual doesn't contain this letter.

Here's the PDF visual :

Here's the AI Builder output process :

As we can see, between the index street and the index Postal code / city, it creates another index with text "O".

It's not for all document processes. I can say that for 2000 scans, its doing this for around 3% of them.

It's a problem because in my power automate, to get the Postal Code / City index, i need to use a function that get the next index to street.

Someone has already had this ?

Many thanks

    Hi,

I believe the O is the location mark.

Sometimes the OCR engine believe it is a character.

    What you can do is:

    1. Go to next index

    2. Check that next index start with a number of contains (-)

    3. If not go to next index again.

Let me know if that works.

    Ohhh

    I've not thought about it.

What I've made its a simple if equals O go to next index.

    I'm using my second account.

Many thx for the information and I'll mark as answered tomorrow morning with the account of the original post

    Regards

For future reference, one easy way to debug these Text Recognition problems is to create a small Power App which uses the Text Recognizer control. That control will outline recognized text blocks and allow you to select one and see the corresponding value. Maybe this would be a good argument for us to add a Try it out experience directly in the AI Builder build page as well for Text Recognizer 😉
