Dataverse Table not updating in managed solution

I have one Dataverse table in unmanaged developer environment where I have two columns for category and subcategory. Recently i have added some more subcategories in this table which are visible in Canvas app too in developer environment. I publish that app and exported the solution. Now when i importing this solution in production environment the updated subcategories are not visible. I am not using pipelines to import the solution rather using the simple import solution steps (upgrade) which were valid even before pipelines process came. It was working fine till last update one month back but suddenly now its not updating. Can someone let me know where i am making mistake?

I have the same question (0)

@blessu - could you double check if you have any unmanaged layers in your Solution in your Production environment?

    Hi @blessu

The most common reason for the changes not taking effect in the target environment is the presence of unmanaged layers in the target environment. Please could you check if that is the case.

    Kind regards

    Gulshan

    Hi,

Are you using patch for solution deployment ? if yes, if there is some unmanaged changes done you won't see your changes there unless you review unmanaged layer from your environment. so try to look for the field and check solution layer that should help you.

You can also use this tool to look if there is unmanaged layer present if yes you can remove it

    https://www.xrmtoolbox.com/plugins/SolutionLayerRemoval/

After that you should be able to see your changes.

@blessu - please click on the Unmanaged layer and select "Remove active customisations"

@Amik These unmanaged layer is in all my tables. Also Remove active customisations is grayed out in my case because something else opening up once i select the unmanaged layer. Look at the screenshot. Also removing will affect my app other functionalities in anyways?

Also, do i need to do this in Managed or unmanaged environments?

@blessu - all unmanaged layers should be removed from your Production environment only. An unmanaged layer is essentially a customisation to a component that has been undertaken outside of the managed solution.

I am not sure why the Remove Customisations Option is greyed out however. Could you try clicking "Publish All Customisations" from the Solutions menu and try again?
