DataCard Search Bad Interaction

Hi all, MS Lists into Power Apps , small app. Modern Controls on and using the new form.

I have a choice field from the Lists (200 ish external names) on the power apps form where this is a searchable datacard in the power app.

When scrolling up or down and selecting the desired user , no problem.

When searching the name of a desired user , it comes up fine BUT on clicking on the name for some reason the card does not populate as it does when scrolling up or down , and instead I have to hit TAB on my keyboard for the selection to then populate.

Not a major issue but for the purpose of UX it just is annoying

Hi ghostrobot26,

I am assuming you are using a Combobox for this selection. It works differently.

When you search and click on a result - it selects the value you wish to populate but shows it as selected when you move away from this control (this is why your TAB works as you are moving to a different element in your app)

Please note while Modern controls are good, it is not suggested to use them for production apps as there's still scope for some improvements. You will find a lot of Contributors on the forum talking about this.

If you want to make an instant selection as soon as you click on the searched result, use a Classic Combobox.
