Cross-Tenant Access in PowerApps - Best Practices Needed

Hello Community,

I need some advice on a cross-tenant setup we have in Azure. We have two different tenants, synchronized in Azure.

One tenant users need to access PowerApps(Canvas) in the other tenant. I'm unsure if they can fully use features like:

  • Office 365 Users Connector: Populates the manager in a dropdown.
  • QR Code Scanner Premium Connector: Used in another flow.
Questions:

  1. Best practices for cross-tenant access, especially for these connectors?

  2. Should we consider importing the apps, flows and create lists into the other tenant to avoid issues?

  3.

Any insights or recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you!

Below are my recommendations (best practices & considerations):
    1.  Office 365 Users connector relies on authentication and authorization within a specific tenant.
    2.  Tenants are designed to provide data isolation. Cross-tenant access needs careful consideration to maintain security and compliance.
    3.  Recommendation would be to invite other tenant users as guest users. This allows them to authenticate and access resources in the target tenant.
    4.  The invited guest users would need licenses and permissions in the target tenant.
    5.  Environment strategy - plan your Power Platform environment strategy. Consider dedicated environments for cross-tenant access.
    6.  Use the Power Platform Admin Center to manage environments, data loss prevention (DLP) policies, and other settings related to cross-tenant access. => there is a setting in Admin center for Tenant Isolation
    7.  It better to import the apps, flows, and lists into the target tenant => Importing the app and using the connector within the target tenant is the most reliable solution.
Summary: While cross-tenant access is possible using Azure AD B2B collaboration, it can introduce complexities and limitations.
