Hi - I am trying to change a User's Business Unit. I go to the Settings, User, in Power Platform Admin Center and select Change Business Unit - on the screen to select the new Business Unit, there is a checkbox that is greyed out that says - move records to new Business Unit. I do not want this to happen.

Is there an easy way to disable this feature ?

Hello,

The thing is that when a record is assigned to a user is automatically assigned to the BU of the user. So reassigning the user to the new business unit will automatically transfer all the records that belong to the user to the new BU.

This article explains how to do this: How to – Use AlwaysMoveRecordToOwnerBusinessUnit setting in Dynamics 365 / PowerApps/ Dataverse – Nishant Rana's Weblog.

It uses a solution specific to altering settings on Dynamics365 and is useful for other settings which are restricted.

As always, test fully before implementing on production environments.
