After submit, PowerApps field blank when viewing/editing

Hello,

I am kind of new to PowerApps and will try to explain my situation below.

I have a field that is being populated on button click.  The way I did this was to put VarFormStatus under text for the field value, then OnClick of the Submit button I have: UpdateContext({varFormStatus: "Contracts"});Reset(Status); SubmitForm(SharePointForm1)

I then have another button that is set to visible: If(Status.Text = "Contracts", true, false)

After I submit I see that "Contracts" did save in the Status field because it shows up in my sharepoint list.  The problem is, when I go back into the form, the button that is supposed to appear is still hidden.  Then when I look at the form, Contracts is not showing up in the Status field.  If I hit submit again, it all works and if reopen the form without refreshing the screen everything works as it should.

It looks like refreshing the page is what is making "Contracts" disappear from the powerapps form.  Any help would be greatly appreciated in this, thank you.

    hi @Poseidon10

you have a button you want to show when the variable is "Contracts".  When you submit the form contracts is update in your SP list but the form itself does not contain that information anymore. hence Status.Text is empty although varFormStatus will still have Contracts. Why not set the button's Visible to (varFormStatus = "Contracts") .

Can you please share which mode the form is in before you submit, is it a new form or edit form.

    Regards,

    R

@rubin_boer , this is what I originally did, when submit, Onclick set the variable to "Contracts".  I even added a Thank you screen with a button to close the form and set the variable to "Contracts" a second time, but it doesnt work.  The button does not show up (could it be because the button is located on a different screen than the submit button???)

    hi @Poseidon10

you are right teh variable is local to that screen,

try replacing UpdateContext({varFormStatus: "Contracts"})  with Set(varFormStatus, "Contracts") which a global variable.

    Lets see what that does.

    Regards,

    R

@rubin_boer , yes that is what I have been trying the whole time, Set(varFormStatus, "Contracts"), but it doesnt work.  It doesnt carry over to the other screen when reopening the form.
