How to allow users access to dataverse without assigning the system, customizer role?

Hi,

We have created a Power app, which users can run, but they can't see the data in it without being assigned the system customizer role, which I'm told is not a good thing to allow everyone to have.

Is there another way of allowing the users to see the data? Maybe with a custom security role? I looked at those but the options are huge and I've no idea where to start!

Any suggestions are welcomed,

Thanks,

Greg.

I have the same question (0)

    Hi @GregFletcher

    Are the users licensed?

Is it a model driven app or canvas app?

The users need to be licensed and given appropriate security role.

If my reply helps then please give it a Thumbs Up and accept it as a solution.

    Kind regards

    Gulshan

    Hi Gulshan,

    Thanks for the message.

The users are indeed licensed and I believe it's a canvas app.

They currently have basic user, approvals user, environment maker, and project user, but still no luck?

    Any idea?

    Thanks,

    Greg.

    Table Permissions:

Check the table-level permissions in Dataverse. Make sure that the users have the required read access to the tables that the Power App interacts with.

    Field-Level Security
    :

If you're using field-level security in Dataverse, verify that the users have the necessary privileges to view the specific fields used in the app.

    Hi @GregFletcher

It appears that you may be using custom table/tables for which security permissions need to be defined. If it is a custom table data in question then you can define permissions for this table by going to the 'Custom Entities' tab (the last tab) of the security role that you wish to assign to the users.

    I hope this information helps
