I have encountered an issue when configuring my Copilot Studio Agent to send quick replies (a message node as below), when in debug mode, it's displaying correctly on the right hand side of the chat, but when I published to Teams, it is displayed like an adaptive card (see the second screenshot).
Red rectangle is where it is displayed in Teams and the blue dash line area is where I want it to be displayed in. Is it possible to configure it or this is a settings from Microsoft?
This behavior is expected. Copilot Studio renders quick replies differently depending on the channel.
In the test canvas/debugger, quick replies appear as native “chips”.
In Microsoft Teams, they are automatically converted into Adaptive Card–style buttons, and there is currently no setting to force Teams to display them in the chat composer area. Microsoft confirms that: 1. Channels have their own rendering rules
Different channels apply their own UI controls when displaying messages, buttons, cards, and quick replies. Reference
2. Teams uses Adaptive Cards as the primary interaction model
When bots send suggested actions or quick replies, Teams transforms them to Adaptive Card actions for consistency. Reference
Conclusion This is channel behavior, not a Copilot Studio configuration issue.
Quick replies cannot be forced to display inline in Teams the same way they do in the Studio debugger. Teams will always render them using card-style controls.
