Start Screen based upon Values in Sharepoint List

Hi All,

Newer to PowerApps, but I'm working on a solution that I'd like to load to a different screen based upon the values in one column of a SharePoint list.

I'd like to take the User's e-mail address and see if it exists anywhere in a set column of the SP list.  If it does, I want to direct it to an 'edit' screen.  If it doesn't, I'd like to direct it to a different 'entry' screen.

I've been reviewing documentation, and have tried setting the User().Email in the App level Formulas and redirecting using StartScreen (as I understand 'navigate' was deprecated).  I'm not sure if this is the most effective place to house these, and have been struggling to make the comparison against the SP List once I grab the User's email address.  Any advice on how to structure this, and how to make the comparison against SP?

Thanks!
