Connecting Sharepoint to Public-facing Chatbot

I am currently looking to create a public-facing chatbot to answer questions and direct people to resources on a public website. If I connect a folder within my SharePoint site as a knowledge source, will that expose other parts of my SharePoint site or other documents that I may not want the public to have access to? Are there any other security considerations I should think about?
