How can I use connection to Account or Contact table to build something like this? Added ownership 50% to the connection and it does what I need to track this but want to be able to do the graph like in the picture. Is this doable?

I'm missing something on the connection table that I don't see how I can turn on hierarchy at all. I'm not understanding the self join requirement.
